“Have your camera ready!” I was told before the service started. Pastor Barry Robinson had also announced last week that something special would be happening, so there was an air of anticipation.
Otherwise it was a regular service, led by Eddie McCalla and accompanied by Vanessa Garcia on keyboard.
James Henderson, UK National Director, explained in his sermon about the church not being a place but was the people called out for a special purpose. Some of these were ordained for leading roles. James then seamlessly introduced Winston Gyimah who was to be ordained as an Elder. Winston’s wife, Julie, and Barry Robinson joined James for prayers, the laying on of hands and the anointing with oil.
Winston and Julie were applauded and there were celebrations in Camberwell as we congratulated the couple in their roles.
